Welcome to TruBlu Siamese! We pride ourselves on breeding beautiful CFA and/or TCA apple heads, wedge heads, and moderate wedge heads. We are a family run Cattery located in scenic Washington Co. New York, breeding for quality, not quantity. At TruBlu, we handle our kittens from birth for proper socialization. Our kittens are raised uncaged and underfoot. They are well-adjusted and love people! All the breeding cats are also our pets and are treated as such, with full run of the house.

Applehead or traditional Siamese cats are known for their endearing nature.

They are the original cats of the Royal Family of Siam, whose king gave them away as gifts to favored relatives and friends. There is evidence that these cats existed in Siam's capital, Ayutthaya, back in 1350 and were used to guard their temples.

As a usual practice when royalty or someone of an elevated status was dying, a Siamese was chosen by that person to receive his/her soul. Considered to have unique powers, the Siamese could act as an intermediary for the dead person's soul. The cat would live in luxury for the rest of his/her days at the temple being waited on by the monks and priests.

Appleheads were only introduced to the Western world at the end of the nineteenth century. Walt Disney used an applehead Siamese in his release of That Darn Cat, starring Hayley Mills. In the movie, Bell, Book, and Candle, Kim Novak's cat, Pyewacket, is another example of an applehead Siamese.

In recent years, the standards in cat shows for the Siamese breed is to have a stylized, very elongated wedge-shaped head or modern look. With the exception of traditional cat shows, the applehead is no longer really acknowledged as being Siamese by CFA show judges, and therefore they are not professionally shown in that registery.  At this time we have the traditional and classic Siamese cats, but will be expanding in the near future to include the modern wedge.

We are currently offering pet, TCA and CFA registered classic, traditional, modern wedge, and applehead Siamese kittens, as well as CFA stud service to our beautiful chocolate point Siamese king.

This popular breed is intelligent and has a striking personality, suggestive of an inscrutable inner life. The breeding tradition began generations ago, but the Siamese of today still have the graceful elegance suggested in the earliest breed standards. The four accepted coat colors are seal point, chocolate point, blue point and lilac point. The sensitive Siamese is in your lap, on your newspaper, in your bed and completely in your heart.
