Are the chemicals the same for dogs and cats?
Frontline Plus® for cats has the identical 'Active' ingredients as Frontline Plus® for dogs. The Frontline Plus® Cat & Dog formulation both have 9.8% Fipronil, the ingredient that kills fleas, ticks, and chewing lice. Frontline Plus® for cats has 11.8% (s)-methoprene.Frontline Plus® for dogs has 8.8% (s)-methoprene. The 3% difference does not alter the results of the Frontline Plus for Dogs® when used on Cats.
Will the Dog Formula Harm My Cat/Kitten?
Absolutely Not!
The Frontline Plus® Dog Doses are not by any means "Harmful" to cats.
They actually have slightly less of one of the chemicals than the cat formula(see above) and this does not affect its potency towards killing fleas and ticks on the cats.That information comes direct from our buyers and our own personal experience.
The chemical in the Frontline Plus Cat formulation is actually a tad stronger than the chemical formulation for the dogs.
Each treatment lasts for 30 days and is water resistant so that it remains the entire month.
